We’ve had Glynis demonstrating here before but doing a street scene I believe. This time she did a warercolour portrait which was outstanding. How she managed to talk coherently and complete such a masterly work is beyond me and it even looked like the photo she was painting. She explained that she often paints watercolour portraits as large as four feet high which given that her technique is based on transparent washes again beggars belief. I like to think I’m an ok watercolourist but her first wash reminded me of how much I still have to learn. The two hours went remarkably quickly and the silence of the twenty five or so people attending was a mark of how spellbinding her demonstration was. As we approached the finish at ten o’clock no one was thinking of their cocoa and slippers! Many thanks Glynis.
